Chittor is located at a distance of 110km from Udaipur, the city of lakes. It would take one complete day to visit Chittorgarh from Udaipur and back. There are buses available which run at regular intervals from Udaipur to Chittor.
There
are various cabs and auto drivers to take you to the fort from the
city. The fort is located at a 15 minutes drive from the city.This fort
is huge and cannot be covered without a vehicle. It is advisable to
hire an experienced guide who has good information about the history of
the fort
There is an entry ticket of Rs 35 which has to be booked online via PayTM, no other option. There are network issues on the hill so it is recommended to book the tickets prior reaching the gate of the fort.

This fort has multiple monuments within the fort. The major places you must visit are :
- Kumbha Palace,
- Meera bai Temple,
- Johar kund,
- Gomukh Kund,
- Vijay Stamba,
- Kirti Stambha,
- Rani Padmavati Palace,
- Rawal Ratan Singh Palace,
- Suraj Pol
- 11th century Jain Temple
Each and every place mentioned above has a unique and a glorious history. Thi s fort has a lot of monkeys jumping round everywhere.
There
were 2 and a half Johars performed in the Johar Kund. The Gomukh Kund
has continous flow of water the source of which is still uknown.
Alauddin Khilji was the first mughal to attack on this fort for queen
Padmini. Stories of Panna Dhai, Meera bai, Gora Badal and many many more
such interesting stories.

This fort is known for its beauty, romance, bravery, sacrifices, loyalty The warriors of this fort fought battles even after their head was cut off from their body.

Post visiting the fort you can have dinner at a restaurant near the Bus Stand. They serve authentic rajasthani food. Here you can visit choki dhani before leaving the town.
